Designer Help

To get back to the main help page click the HELP button above.

The Designer area is a drag and drop content editor that allows you to make a custom design for print on many of our products. The main features are described below. Please review this and of course the best way to learn is to just play around with the Designer itself!

Textbox Features

Add New Textbox

Add New Textbox allows you to add more text blocks to the design.
NOTE: Some products may not support additional textboxes. If this is the case this button will not appear within the designer.

Changing Font Family/Size

You can use these to adjust the font family and/or size of any textbox in two different ways:

  1. Simply clicking on the textbox and then changing the font family/size to make the entire textbox one specific font family and/or size.
  2. Put the textbox in edit mode (see below: Textbox Edit Mode) which enables you to select portions of text within a box in order to have multiple font families and/or sizes within one textbox.

Textbox Edit Mode

To enter into Text Edit Mode you must double click the textbox you wish to edit. Once you have done this it will be highlighted with a green box and you will be able to add/replace text, change font styles/families/sizes. To exit Text Edit Mode simply click somewhere outside the textbox.

Increase/Decrease Textbox Font Sizes

The A+/A- buttons allow you to increase/decrease all of the font sizes within a selected textbox in increments relative to one another. If you have a text box with some text at a 12pt size and other text within the same box at 16pt and you click A+, this will increase each size to the next available size; 12 would go to 13 and 16 would go to 17. If 17 was not an available font size it would increase to 18 or whatever might be the next available size. The A- does the same thing but in reverse.

NOTES:

  • If you try to make some text so large that it will not fit on the design, the designer will automatically adjust it to fit.
  • These A+/A- buttons will not work on a specific selection of text, it will alter all the font sizes within the textbox regaurdless if you have text selected.

Adjusting Font Styles

You use these to adjust the font styles (Bold, Italic, or both) for the text selected.
NOTE: Some fonts may not allow for one or more of these options.

Adjusting Text Alignment

You use these to set the text alignment to either left right or center for the selected text.

Special Characters

The Special Characters button opens up a popup that has all the different types of "special" characters we support. After opening the popup, enter Text Box Edit Mode and place the text cursor where you wish to insert the character. Once you have done this select the character you wish to insert.

Line Spacing / Leading

Use these options when you want to alter how much white space is between each line of text within a textbox.
NOTE: The leading will be adjusted for the entire textbox and not just the selected text.
